It’s no secret that I love poring over house decor and so spend inappropriate amounts of time on Pinterest doing exactly that.

A couple of weeks ago, I visited The Handmade Fair, it’s on at Hampton Court every year and the tents fill up with local and not-so-local handmade and craft businesses. It was so great walking around and getting the creative juices flowing because I’m re-jigging my bedroom now that I’ve moved back home and thinking of painting some furniture. I’ve never done it before. How beautiful is the paint-work on that pink dresser?

My mum really liked the fair because she’s big on crochet so she got plenty of advice and ideas too. The flower wall in the photos was created to raise money for Alzheimer’s and lots of people all over the country had sent in their crocheted flowers for it – I thought that was so sweet.

On the day we picked up some vintage plates as mum’s next project is going to be a cake stand. We just need to find some teacups to glue between the plates now, I’ll put some photos up once it’s done!

Someone actually explained to me why a fat square is called a fat square but said it’s because they’re all the same shape (a square) but I still am lost on the fat part. Any ideas?! It was cool to see some of it in the making, as there were plenty of people chiseling away at silver making their jewellery, or sitting in their nook painting.

I found so many new little businesses who are creating such unique products, I can’t wait to share them (especially as we get closer to the Christmas season, there were so many great gift ideas here!).

Do you like to do any crafts? Have you been to any handmade fairs in London?

Love, Chloe xx

(I’m going to be painting some furniture soon and think I’m going to try out some chalk paint so please tweet me @WANDERWOMANCO if you’ve done anything similar as I’m going to need all the help!)
